The memories of steam locomotives rambling by our house blowing their
steam whistles are some of my favorite childhood memories. I was born at home
in the old Asa G. Candler home 1069 Seaboard Avenue - Atlanta, Georgia
I lived there the first 14 years of my life, then moved to Hapeville.

In 1886 Dr. John Stith Pemberton first introduced Coca-Cola in Atlanta, Ga.
The pharmacist concocted a caramel-colored syrup in a three-legged brass kettle
in his backyard. Pemberton distributed Coca-Cola by carrying it
in a jug down the street to Jacobs' Pharmacy. For five cents,
consumers enjoyed a glass of Coca-Cola at the soda fountain.

Note: In 1891 Atlanta entrepreneur Asa G. Candler
acquired ownership of the Coca-Cola business for $2,300.
